Then he got between the king and an assassin, and received a commission in the Evandian Royal Guard for his heroism, and his life got really interesting.

Master Trader Stavin is sent out to buy Kavinston's supplies. He fears that it is the end of his life as a Warrior, but after the supply run, Stavin goes to Evandia to tend his Trading House, accompanied by eight senior Warriors, and Warmaster Kel'Horval.

In Twin Bridges, Stavin becomes involved with the Royal Guard, and is as a supporter of the king. That leads to him being targeted by the king's enemies as well as his own.

Book Three in the Stavin Kel'Aniston DragonBlessed series.

The Andarian Affair Stavin DragonBlessed Book 3 eBook Loren K Jones

Unlike the previous two books, this book is not about caravan duty. Stavin has other things to do, such as checking his holdings and visiting the king. Of course, it hardly means less action as poor Stavin quickly finds out. The story is told in the same spirit as the earlier two books though, part Stavin, part Valley, action filled with a rather straighforward plot and not too much soul searching and a clear enemy. In other words, if you like the earlier two books, you like this one.

My one concern is the what happens in the end. When a protagonist suddenly gains a lot of power, it always leaves me worried. I don't mind powerful protagonists, but there is a thin line between that power and a Marty Sue. I am curious in what direction the author is going to take the story...

The Andarian Affair Stavin DragonBlessed Book 3 eBook Loren K Jones Reviews

If I filled this box by repeatedly typing, "snarled", I would type it less times than the word appears in this book! It is distracting; I found myself counting the snarling characters (several a chapter, sometimes several a paragraph) and forgetting the story. The series is a simple, easy read and would be enjoyable if the author used a barked, snapped, or growled every now and then.
Great tale, but I think I know where this is going to go and I say DON'T.ruin a great trilogy.
Leave this as a 'cliff hanger'

3 books in the series and this is the only one I noticed a 'cosmetic' production error.
Chapters 40,49 First Paragraphs were not coded consistent with the rest of the book (fttb-firstpara)
Really enjoying this series. I reread the first 2 before reading this one - made for a busy day and a half. Just as good the second time through. This series is one of my must buys as soon as published. None of the books have disappointed and #3 is no exception.
I love these books! The hardest part is knowing they are completed through the sixth book and having to wait. I know I sound like a kid before Christmas. These books really are great! I'm very curious as to how the author will work with the late story changes to Stavin in future novels.
Another great chapter in the saga of Stavin DragonBlessed. I have followed this series since the start and recommend it very highly to all mature young adult and older readers. It does contain violence, but there is a war on, so that should be expected. Characters die, some of whom are those I liked, but this too should be expected in a reasonable tale. I love the character development, and the continued growth of the hero. If you haven't read any of the books, you should start with the first, or you will likely be confused and not know who is who. If you do start, then you should expect to continue. These are very hard to put down before the finish.
Needless to say I will continue to buy the upcoming books. Write faster, Mr. Jones.
Entire series is well written with few editorial flaws or bad parsing. I read most types of fantasy and science fiction and have become extremely irritated over the fact that most authors make their protagonists either completely oblivious to the world around them or so inept that the character would not have survived childhood much less flourish with the power they develop during the story. The only exception seems to be military fantasy that then becomes bogged down because the author spends chapters showing off his understanding of tactics.
Finally an author that does neither of the above. Our hero is developed fully, suffers his trials and learns from his mistakes. This series is a fast paced adventure that is hard to put down and I will be miserable waiting for the next installment of Stavin's story. I have read all 3 books in just 2 days and these aren't 3 chapter books. The fighting makes sense without being overdone. The hero makes decisions true to what we know of his experience and life. It may seem simplistic to some readers but L. Jones doesn't write a book that is all puppy dogs and rainbows for the participation trophy crowd.
New titles and the responsibilities that come with them may mean less time spent guarding caravans, but if anything the worlds of politics and mercantilism Stavin finds himself in thanks to his new positions are just as if not more bloodthirsty in some ways, even if the weapons of choice tend towards lies and subterfuge rather than swords and axes.

Between dealing with his new trading house and what it means for the valley to the court and his new position as Royal Guard and all that entails, there's plenty going on, with Stavin's side of the story generally fast paced and at times bloody when fools run headlong into someone for whom 'honor' isn't just a word to be tossed around lightly.

Balancing Stavin's more action oriented half are the sections focused on life in the valley when the warriors are away, covering the day-to-day life of those that keep things running, from training and education of the young to planning more long-term regarding matters both in the valley and outside it, with several developments regarding the latter promising some significant changes in future books.

This book closes some plotlines raised in the previous books, but how it does so, in particular two significant developments regarding Stavin towards the end of the book open up some interesting possibilities for future volumes, and it will be interesting to see where it goes from here.
Unlike the previous two books, this book is not about caravan duty. Stavin has other things to do, such as checking his holdings and visiting the king.
